The setup
1) Use a standard 52-card deck.
2) Deal all cards evenly to all players.
3) The first round starts randomly. After that, ranks from the previous round determine who goes first and who has power.
How to play
1) The first player plays one or more cards of the same value.
2) The next player must play the same number of cards with a higher value or pass.
3) Turns continue until everyone passes.
4) The last player to play starts the next round with any set of cards.
5) When a player runs out of cards, they are out of the round and ranked.
6) The first to finish becomes the President; the last becomes the Asshole.
How to win
Try to finish all your cards before anyone else. Your rank at the end of each round affects your starting position and advantages in the next one.
Game variations
- Some versions let the President swap their worst cards for the Asshole’s best cards between rounds.
- Jokers may be added as wild cards or bombs.
